Here’s an example to show what a fine upright country we’re living in.
The kids’ reading books at school all have to be submitted to the Ministry of Education before they are approved for use in school. Here’s an example of what a Year 4 reading book looks like:
"That’s the miller” said Marge. See he’s holding a jar of *** in his hand. We call it **** nowadays. The miller made *** with the malt from his mill. You can see that he loved his ***. But he did not love his wife."
The **** words were blacked out with marker pen.

this is bad
*** = crack.

Ah good times, good times. I remember the days when we would get new books and the teacher would read out pages and lines to black out. We got to sniff magic markers and read it before the ink fell dried.
We all knew it was a joke, and it actually made us read it. If it was banned it had to be juicy.
ahahaha!! nibaq i remember the marker sniffing too!
the sad thing is we were blacking out HISTORY books.. really sad indeed.. i forgot what wew were blacking out though.. markers must have been new i guess.. ;P
Fortunately something like the internet is not so easy to censor. Or to control. I think this blacking out is the wrong way, it makes things more appealing to kids. Just let them make up their own mind.
